Answering questions & talking wood

Introductions

12/3/24, Texas: Hi there, I’m Jim, the proud owner of Trashpanda Woodworking and a lifelong woodworker with a passion for teaching. You might call me a maker, a teacher, or just a guy who can’t resist the smell of sawdust. After years of teaching in person, I’ve decided to bring my knowledge and skills to the digital world.

Woodworking is more than just my passion—it’s my heritage. I come from a long line of woodworkers. My dad, grandfather were woodworkers and owned Naples Furniture Parts and my family's history in the profession stretches back to the Dunlap Cabinet Makers of New Hampshire. The Dunlaps were masters of their craft, creating stunning pieces in the mid-1700s that blended Scots-Irish traditions with New World ingenuity. Growing up with that legacy taught me to appreciate the technical side of woodworking and the artistry and history behind every project.
